UNESCO is the lead agency of the United Nations for the implementation of the Millennium Development Goal #2 – Achieve Universal Primary Education. The Organization’s Education For All (EFA) programme contributed to the achievement of the MDGs.

As Officer-in-Charge of Education at the UNESCO Commission, I worked with the Philippine government’s education agencies by sharing EFA developments and best practices across the world at the same time reporting on Philippines’ contributions to EFA movement inclusive of national legislations (policy instruments), projects, campaigns and resource allocation. I collaborated with colleagues from the following institutions:

• Department of Education
• Technical Education and Skills Development Authority
• Commission on Higher Education

Our education work at the Commission also enjoyed support from NGOs, foundations, media and the private sector (businesses).
