When I joined the University of Manitoba early 2013, the Office of International Relations (now International Office) was in the midst of putting together an International Strategy. I remember one of the questions I asked at my interview was – Are there priority countries for UM international engagement?

I am proud to say that I contributed to the UM International Strategy. After a series of university-wide consultations, the draft, which our office put together, was adopted by the Senate in the Fall of 2014.
